Happy New Year Marketers can no longer limit their focus to creating the right picture and message for ads. Legal checklists can no longer be limited to confirming the message accuracy. Now, marketers must expand their focus to include determining the right marketing technology. As to legal checklists, ignorance of new rules and regulations is not an excuse for breaking them.

"I will be knowledgeable of today's marketing technology, rules, and regulations," needs to be the top of your 2004 New Year's Resolutions list. At a minimum make CAN-SPAM and search engine marketing (SEM) trends a part of your everyday research.
